Hortons American dream
04 July 2013
Property professionals from across the West Midlands assembled at Pennyblacks in the Mailbox to test their knowledge of all things American in the ‘The American Quiz from H.E.L.’ on 4th July 2013.
Hosted by Hortons’ Estate Ltd (H.E.L), the 26 teams were challenged on their American know-how and dancing skills as they helped to raise £5,100 for Beating Bowel Cancer.
Organiser and property manager at Hortons, Melissa Spence, said:
We are delighted that the quiz has been a huge success and the generosity of the teams and sponsors has been fantastic.
Everyone embraced the occasion, especially during the Dancing Queen round where we saw some very entertaining Charleston’s & Line Dancing examples! Above all, we have broken our previous fundraising total, which is great for the charity.
Throughout the evening members of staff from the Charity were on hand to talk about the work it does and where the donation would be directed.
We rely on organisations such as Hortons’ Estate to raise monies to help fund the work we do and support those who need our help.
The teams faced eight challenging rounds including questions on Route 66, California, Disney, American States & New York, with the ever popular ‘Dancing Queen’ round seeing the property experts practice their dance moves.
BGS Architects came out top and crowned the overall winners, with Hortons taking the runners-up spot after a 3 way tie breaker!
