Hortons’ quiz night raises vital funds for children’s charity Promise Dreams
10 March 2026
Generous Midlands-based companies have raised thousands of pounds for a local children’s charity at a Hortons quiz night in Birmingham.
More than 175 people packed into The Indian Brewery Taproom off St Paul’s Square in the city’s Jewellery Quarter to support Hortons’ charity of the year, Promise Dreams.
Bulleys Chartered Surveyors took home the winners’ trophy, beating Handelsbanken to the title from the 26 teams that took part.
Every penny raised on the night will be donated to the charity, which creates lasting memories for children facing life-limiting conditions. These range from special experiences such as an overnight stay at West Midlands Safari Park, to essential equipment that improves the quality of life for children and their families.
Promise Dreams estimates that the proceeds from the evening will fund magical moments for at least nine families in the region.
Nina Meeks of Hortons, who co-organised the event, said: “We’re hugely grateful to everyone for their fantastic support. The event was completely sold out and we received generous sponsorship and donations of raffle prizes from local businesses.
“Most importantly, the money donated at this event will help ensure young people who are experiencing an incredibly challenging time have the opportunity to make some wonderful memories with their families.”
Established in 2001, Promise Dreams has supported nearly 2,000 children, ranging from newborns to 19 years old. It is the only charity providing this kind of support to children under the age of three and relies entirely on fundraising and donations, receiving no grants or government funding.
