Retail park Is fit for PureGym

A new PureGym fitness centre is set to open at Imperial Retail Park in Lichfield.

Landlord Hortons’ Estate Limited has agreed a new 15-year lease on a 7,000 sq ft unit on the park with the gym operator.

Since opening its first gym in 2009, PureGym now has 230 gyms across the UK, including 20 in the West Midlands.

Imperial Retail Park, on Eastern Avenue, has been developed by Hortons’ Estate following its acquisition of the former manufacturing site from previous owners IMI Norgren.

The new retail park comprises six retail units, totalling 70,000 sq ft, of which 42,000 sq ft was speculatively developed by Hortons. The park’s first occupiers, Lidl and Costa Coffee, opened their doors to the public in November last year.

Richard Norgrove, property director at Hortons’ Estate, said: “From the outset we received a lot of interest from potential occupiers wanting to take space at Imperial Retail Park. It’s great to see that interest being converted into lettings. As a result, with three units let and two more in solicitors’ hands, the park is close to being fully occupied, with just one 10,000 sq ft unit available.”

In addition to the retail park, four-acres of the ten-acre site, adjacent to Lichfield City FC and fronting Brownsfield Road, has outline planning consent for 68 new homes.
