23 July 2025

Hortons has completed a deal that will see luxury jeweller Mappin & Webb return to Birmingham city centre for the first time in two decades.
The Watches of Switzerland Group, which owns Mappin & Webb, has signed a 10-year lease at The Burlington on New Street, marking a significant addition to the city’s high-end retail offering.
The retailer will expand and redevelop its former showroom (Watches of Switzerland) and the two adjoining units into a new Mappin & Webb showroom, spanning over 7,500 sq ft. An internal fit-out is underway, with the showroom due to open to the public in Q4 2025.
Nina Meeks of Hortons said the signing was a strong signal of confidence in Birmingham’s city centre retail market and aligns with a major milestone for the brand.
She said: “Mappin & Webb’s decision to return to Birmingham with a new showroom reflects the strength of the city’s reputation as a destination for luxury retail. As the brand celebrates its 250th anniversary, we’re proud to welcome such an iconic name in British jewellery and watchmaking back to The Burlington and into the heart of the city.”
The Group also operates the Goldsmiths showroom and Breitling boutique in Birmingham’s Bullring, further reinforcing its commitment to the city’s luxury retail landscape.
Lloyd Morgan, Mappin & Webb showroom director said: “We are thrilled to introduce Mappin & Webb to Birmingham, and the Midlands as a whole. We are incredibly grateful for the support our clients have shown over the years; we are looking forward to welcoming our clients old and new to our Mappin & Webb showroom in the heart of Birmingham.”
