Hortons to take on Three Peaks challenge for Prevent ALL
05 September 2023
A group of property professionals from Hortons’ Estate Ltd are set to take on the Derbyshire Three Peaks challenge to raise funds for a leukaemia charity.
Team Hortons will combine a visit to all three mountains in the Peak District National Park in a single 20-mile walk in aid of the firm’s 2023 charity of the year, Prevent ALL.
The challenge will encompass 1,000 metres of ascent and descent, with participants given no more than 10 hours to complete the course.
It is hoped that the event will raise a minimum of £1,000 which will support research into the prevention of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL), or other blood related cancers, and provide help for those affected by it.
It is the latest in a calendar of fundraising initiatives that Hortons’ has hosted in aid of the charity. More than £20,000 was donated to Prevent ALL in July 2023, following an annual Rollapaluza roller-racing evening in Birmingham.
Jane Phillips of Hortons, said: “This challenge is far from a ‘walk in the park’! It is going to test our team both mentally and physically but it’s all in aid of an incredible cause. We know that as many as 800 children are affected by ALL each year, so every penny we generate will go some way to supporting those families through treatment. We would be hugely grateful for any support our friends, colleagues and business contacts can give in helping us to smash our fundraising target.”
Hortons’ Three Peaks challenge for Prevent ALL takes place on Friday 6 October 2023.
