Staff to take on 140-mile Ironman challenge for Promise Dreams
13 May 2026
Hortons has announced its latest fundraising initiative in support of Promise Dreams, a charity dedicated to helping seriously and terminally ill children have their dreams fulfilled.
This summer, Team Hortons will take on a three-part Ironman-inspired challenge, walking, swimming and cycling more than 140 miles to raise vital funds for the charity’s life-changing work.
The challenge will begin on 20 June with a 2.4-mile open water swim. The second stage will take place on 27 June, when participants will complete a demanding 112-mile cycle ride from Aberystwyth to Shrewsbury. The final leg will conclude on 3 July with a full marathon distance 26.2-mile walk around Birmingham.
Nina Meeks of Hortons said: “We are incredibly proud to be taking on this challenge in support of Promise Dreams. The work they do to bring joy and unforgettable experiences to seriously ill children and their families is truly inspiring.
“While we could probably have chosen some slightly easier challenges, we’re looking forward to pushing ourselves and would encourage our partners and supporters to get involved and help us make a real difference.”
Promise Dreams is Hortons’ staff charity of the year, with fundraising activity continuing throughout 2026. The Ironman challenge follows Hortons’ earlier fundraising event this year, which saw 175 property professionals come together for a charity quiz night at The Indian Brewery in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.
