Hortons partners with Promise Dreams to support local children and families

Hortons has chosen Promise Dreams, a UK charity that makes a real difference to seriously and terminally ill children and their families, as its charity of the year for 2025/26.

Over the next twelve months, Hortons staff will take part in a range of fundraising activities to support Wolverhampton-based Promise Dreams. The charity provides dream experiences for children of all ages, from magical holidays and meetings with heroes to essential items such as specialised wheelchairs or adapted baths.

Since its founding in 2001, Promise Dreams has raised more than £3.3 million and supported nearly 2,000 children, ranging from newborns to 19 years old.  It is the only charity to provide this kind of support to children under the age of three. The charity also offers memory-making experiences for children with a short prognosis, often arranging urgent cases quickly.

Nikki Yeomans, charity manager at Promise Dreams, said the charity relies entirely on fundraising and donations, receiving no grants or government funding.

She added: “We are absolutely thrilled to have Hortons supporting us over the next 12 months. As a very small charity with just two team members, we work tirelessly to make dreams come true for as many children as possible but we simply couldn’t do this without the incredible generosity and commitment of organisations like Hortons. Their enthusiasm and dedication to fundraise and champion our cause is truly inspiring, and partnerships like this allow us to support far more children and families than we could on our own. We are truly excited about what we can achieve together.”

Hortons’ partnership with Promise Dreams builds on the company’s long-standing commitment to charitable giving in the West Midlands. Previous initiatives have included support for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, Midlands-based charity Prevent ALL, which funds research into blood-related cancers, and Noah’s Star, which helps families of premature and seriously ill babies.

Nina Meeks of Hortons said: “Promise Dreams is an incredible charity that works tirelessly to make special dreams come true for thousands of children and their families. The dedication and care the team shows, often under very challenging circumstances, is truly inspiring. We are proud to support such a remarkable organisation and look forward to helping make even more dreams come true over the next year.”

Promise Dreams will be hosting its annual fundraising ball on Friday 7 November at the Grand Station, Wolverhampton. This year’s theme is ‘glitz and glamour’ and guests can expect a spectacular night of live entertainment and heartfelt giving, all dedicated to making dreams come true for seriously and terminally ill children. Tickets are priced at £80pp and there is availability for individual tickets and private tables.
